Big Ideas,
Real Impact.
Hi, I’m Sara Baio, founder of Thrive Advocacy.
Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, I’ve spent the past 13 years working in special education, most recently as a high school and young adult program teacher for the past 5 years. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in K–12 Special Education with a focus on Behavioral Disabilities and a Master’s in Organizational Leadership. Over the years, I’ve developed strong skills in transition planning, IEP development, behavior supports, family collaboration, and navigating adult services.
I created Thrive Advocacy to be the voice in the silent spaces — those moments where navigating complex systems, accessing services, or speaking up for needs can feel tricky or overwhelming. My goal is to advocate for individuals with developmental disabilities and support their families by ensuring they are heard, their rights are respected, and their goals are prioritized.
At Thrive Advocacy, we help families make sense of systems like SSI, DDS, and vocational programs, while guiding individuals to thrive in their communities, schools, and workplaces. I’m passionate about empowering both individuals and families to move forward with confidence, clarity, and a strong voice.
